Description

Winterized DHA Algal Oil, or winterized Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) Oil, is obtained by biological fermentation of Schizochytrium sp. strains in a fully controlled sealed fermenter, then winterization technology is used to remove excess saturated fatty acid components and impurities. The obtained DHA algal oil is pure, clear, transparent and has good fluidity, then added Ascorbyl palmitate or Vitamin E as antioxidants to made this unstable long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids a stable, sustainable, high-quality and commercial vegan omega-3 sources.

Relevant laws and regulations in China

In 2010, "National Food Safety Standard for Infant Formula" clearly stipulates that if docosahexaenoic acid (22:6n-3) is added to infant formula, at least the same amount of Arachidonic Acid (20:4n-6) should be added. The amount of eicosapentaenoic acid (20:5n-3) in the long chain unsaturated fatty acid should not exceed the amount of docosahexaenoic acid. This means that if DHA is added to infant formula, at least the same dose of ARA must be added. And the dose of EPA cannot exceed the dose of DHA.
